Chuck and formula-feeding

I felt like I was one of the few people to love the show, Chuck, until Jon Stewart jumped on the bandwagon one night on The Daily Show, exhorting NBC not to cancel Chuck.

So, it was with great disappointment to discover that a show with a pregnant DOCTOR and her DOCTOR, husband, chose to formula feed, rather than breastfeed, their newborn baby. This would have been a perfect show in which to normalize breastfeeding. No one would have needed to hear about sore nipples, latching, or anything else. Ellie could have used one of those damn nursing covers, even, as matter-of-factly as possible. Yet, instead, whether due to personal vitriol against breastfeeding by the writers or whether the advertising dollars insisted upon it, "Chuck" opted for the sub-optimal feeding option. Another possibility: did Chuck do this to get back at the First Lady and her push for infants' and children's health as well? Are the creators of Chuck on the Bachman/Palin crazy train?
